Bergelmir is a small irregular moon orbiting around Saturn. It has a retrograde orbit and was probably a captured object. It is named after a giant in norse mythology.
The vase was coiled by hand and fired up to 1240C. Bergelmir is made with a sand colored clay and covered with porcelain slip to create a bark effect. It is glazed inside and left unglazed outside.
The vase is functional and measures 11 cm in height and around 10 cm in diameter at its middle (largest) point.
All the glazes are formulated and made by me.
Certificate of authenticity will be provided.
This vase is part of the 274 Moons / 274 Vases projects. I am building a vase for each of the 274 moons orbiting Saturn.
